Chapter 4: How to live in perfect love and perfect trust

“An it harm none, do as thou will”

Enough has been said and lot has been talked about this age old concept – Living In Perfect Love and Perfect Trust. However reality is, hardly we understand the deeper connotation of this mammoth concept. And until the realization that ‘perfect love and perfect trust’ is typically a momentary state of poise and grace, well we are somewhat doomed to fail over and over again.

Let us delve further. Let us delve deeper and break the whole PLPT concept. Let’s focus to its components and assess it. Needless to say, such an intangible statement is certainly tricky to pin down.

First things first- concentrate on the word – ‘perfect love’. Well, the word Perfect is possibly the biggest and perhaps the most impossible concept around. Intangible to the core he term perfection symbolizes a feeling which cannot be held, cannot be tasted or cannot be smelled! To put ‘perfection’ into the realm of scientific phase, it appears like ABSOLUTE ZERO, motionless and still. It appears as if action and motion has been stripped down to perhaps the bare minimums. And what exists then is THE TIME and THE SPACE and soon we all vanish to the next tangible realm.

Now, let’s analyze the term LOVE. To be honest, ‘love’ remains as one of the most transitory idea, a momentary phase which is equally intangible like perfect. It’s not possible to touch love. It’s equally impossible to hold it, to smell or taste it. Indeed the very ever elusive and fleeting concept love is also difficult to obtain. Even harder than perfection!

So what’s love anyway? To answer it in one simple line – love is basically the sheer recognition and acknowledgement of all the flaws as well as the negative aspects of the beloved, which is further, enlarged and augmented to the ultimate intensity of reciprocal understanding and mutual acceptance. Indeed a blindfolded view to all these imperfections makes the very concept of ‘love’ a highly conventional form of mental delusion that it is. On the flip side of the coin, opening your eyes to these imperfections at a rather close and unfortified range however steers to a rapid polarity shift. Yes passionate love can simply shift into passionate hate. Okay, so we have a completely mutually opposite states as concept – perfection and love! Fundamentally they simply cancel each other out and the concept ends.

Let’s now view things from another point- from the point of TRUST. Unlike perfection or love TRUST is a rather tangible concept and can be also shifted into varied degrees. Indeed, you can trust specific aspects of a person however you can’t love certain aspect of others. You either love or you do not.

The question hangs – do you really think that all pagans actually follow this sheer concept of Perfect Love or Perfect Trust? Focus on the golden rule of thumb - “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” the other golden rule - “An it harm none, do as thou will”.
